Kathy has been in the Baton Rouge food scene for decades but this new shop is a feast for the eye as well as for the stomach. It reminds me of Sucre in New Orleans. I love to walk in to her spot and just feast my eyes even if I didn't come to buy anything. when Martin's opens with wine and deli offerings and they plan events with Kathy, Ann Connelly, and kiki it will be producing many must attend events!
Called to order one of their to go dinners and Matthew made it happen for me! He was wonderful to work with and I am so excited for my special dinner tonight. 100% would recommend and will continue to use them. Thanks Matthew!
Retail- this store is like adult candy land. I want everything in there. Who knew I needed glassware so badly?? Catering- stunningly beautiful and delicious. Every. Dang. Time. Grab and go- something for everyone in the fam. I grab a meal weekly. Lunch- I’m addicted to the citrus salad and get it every time. Dessert- dark chocolate sea salt cookies are unreal. Key lime pie- I can’t buy again because I ate the entire pie myself. Cakes- again, insanely gorgeous and delicious. do yourself a favor and check out the company’s Instagram for some cake pics.
I ordered one of their rainbow surprise cakes to celebrate my partner graduating college a few months ago. At first the price was a bit intimidating, but after having that cake, it was totally worth it. That cake was possibly the best I’ve ever had. It was brightly colored and light. But the icing was dense, yet not overwhelming. The sprinkles got EVERYWHERE because I cut it inside the house but it’s kind of funny now to find sprinkles somehow behind my entertainment center.
Thankful for the consistency I can expect from Gourmet Girls. Their recipes never disappoint and the quality is always of the highest standard. I walked in and asked her how to feed bridesmaids all day. She laid out the perfect menu and when it was picked up it was displayed beautifully. My guests raved all day about every dish. A true highlight of our wedding festivities!
I totally love this place! Yes a little pricey, but the gourmet salad and croissant I got for lunch I 100% recommended for a little healthier lunch since I’m pregnant and wanted to treat myself to something a little more gourmet. Beautiful inside with all the fine plates and the delicious cookies I couldn't pass up!!!
